Ten years ago, London’s Wichita Recordings rolled out its very first release, Bright Eyes’ Fevers and Mirrors. That now-famed opus that gave Conor Oberst his reputation (for better and worse, mind) is, appropriately, one of the albums that the label will re-release as part of its 10-year anniversary celebrations, which include a handful of vinyl re-issues and some live performances.
In addition to Fevers and Mirrors, the “birthday releases” include The Cribs’ self-titled debut, Simian Mobile Disco’s Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release, and Bloc Party’s Silent Alarm, which will come with a bonus 7″. All albums will be pressed up on high-quality vinyl and limited to 1000 copies. Pre-order now or snag copies at retailers participating in this year’s Record Store Day festivities.
It’s no anniversary without a few parties, and a few live shows are planned for May. Check the Wichita site for further updates.
