What would you get if The Sims and Pac Man had a lovechild whilst under the influence of some serious hallucinogens? Check out the video for Xiu Xiu’s “This Too Shall Pass Away (For Freddy)” and you may have a better working idea. While tiny, pixelated space knights read a human’s thoughts only to find out musings like “she ghost like fantasia,” and “the king is a fat asshole,” drugs and alcohol eliminate some characters, and others pair up and move on, leaving one lone man at the very end. It’s almost cute until you stop and realize how much this game-like world resembles our own.
