Much news abuzz from the Lambchop camp. The Nashville, TN collective and longtime members of the Merge family will release a live DVD of their performance at the XX Merge fiesta that took place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina this past July.
First-hand reports say this was one of the most memorable shows of the entire anniversary festival, one that made some of the label’s larger acts pale in comparison. Not that this is much of a surprise. Kurt Wagner and his constantly rotating cast of musicians have been in the spotlight for a solid 15 years, long enough to more or less perfect the juggling act of having multiple guitarists, drummers, singers, violinists, and more onstage at any given time.
The last song in the set, “Give It,” pretty much brought the house down. As seen here:
Live at XX Merge is out November 17 digitally and November 24 physically.
