Tokyo Police Club have stayed rather quiet since late 2008, but hardly unproductive. The Newmarket, Ontario quartet has been busy touring, writing, and recording material for their forthcoming Mom + Pop debut, Champ, leaving us lots of Twitter messages about the process, and gearing up for a lengthy tour in support of the new offering.
The album’s reportedly finished and awaiting its June 8 release date. In the meantime, “Breakneck Speed” is available to download, and, as of today, there’s also this remix of the song “Wait Up (Boots of Danger),” courtesy of Passion Pit.

We last heard from Tokyo Police Club when the adorable Canadian rockers announced a signing with Mom+Pop Records, for the release of the band’s next full-length, Forthcoming LP.
While we await details on that album, TPC has a new, unreleased song/video, “Hands Reversed,” currently playing on their blog. Some detailed shots of someone’s shoes and frontman Dave standing on his back deck with a guitar. Be sure to watch for the helicopters.
