This summer, the band will release if i had a hi-fi, which sees them covering the likes of Depeche Mode, Spoon, and The Soft Pack (but not Peter Gabriel). Mark Wenk of Calexico and Holly Miranda show up for guest spots, along with Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs), and Phil Peterson (Kay Kay and the Weathered Underground).

Nada Surf picked a few obscure numbers for the release as well, including “Electrocution,” by Bill Fox, which you can download below. Fox was the lead singer of Cleveland-based ’80s band Mice. He all but quit the biz after a couple solo albums, though thanks to an article in The Believer, his music is seeing something of a resurgence these days. Hence this track:
