School of Seven Bells announced pre-order details this week on their forthcoming sophomore album, Disconnect from Desire, out July 13 on Vagrant/Ghostly International.
The album is the second from trio Benjamin Curtis (formerly of Secret Machines) and twins Claudia and Alejandra Dehaza, whose debut, Alpinisms, was released in 2008.
Produced by Curtis and mixed by Jack Joseph Puig, Disconnect from Desire was recorded in the band’s home studio and mixed in Los Angeles at Ocean Way Recording.
This time around, in addition to a more distilled sound, the band is throwing in a little something for the Ms. Cleo in all of us, a set of exclusive School of Seven Bells tarot cards with the limited edition (250 pieces at $15 each) UK CD box set.
Other pre-order options include a double-LP (limited to 3,000 pieces) and a CD version of the album. For those who seek instant (albeit, not celestial) gratification, all of the above will receive an immediate sneak peek of the single “Dust Devil.” More pre-order info can be found at Merch Lackey.
While the band has yet to release a full touring schedule, SoSB will play back-to-back, sold-out shows at the Mercury Lounge in New York City on June 9 and 10 before swinging over to Europe and Australia.
