Says former Black Dice member Sebastian Blanck of this video, “It was so beautiful yesterday I decided to record a version of ‘Thunder’ outside.” It’s a concise-yet-accurate summary of this clip, which really is the epitome of a man left alone with his guitar (no actual thunder though, as far as we can see). The gentle folk-rock strains here aren’t what one might expect from a man formerly connected with an experimental/noise group, but life’s full of surprises.
Blanck’s understated video—which he filmed at Lake Oscawana in New York—is in keeping with his understated aesthetic, more of which can be found here. Looks like we have a new bookmark to add to our collection.
