Keeping up with the comings and goings of Ryan Adams ought to be someone’s full-time job. He took a gig as a videogame columnist for the blog The Awl, but according to that site is currently on hiatus. And last year, he claimed, on his website, to be quitting music, but dude just can’t seem to keep his fingers off the laptop, and now there’s a new song from the D.R. Adams department (Via TwentyFourBit).
The Awl—that same blog Adams is supposedly on hiatus from—recently redesigned its website and celebrated that fact with a theme song, “The Awl, The Song (Hair Metal Version).” Adams subsequently sent over a follow-up track, “Revenge of the Awl,” under his Sleazy Handshake guise. Don’t expect any alt-country jamming here; Adams has channeled his ’80s metal alter-ego for this one. The track is said to be from the upcoming Born on the AOL album.
