Arcade Fire have a fancy new audio player, and they’re not afraid to use it.
The band is showing off some new music, namely, a 12″ entitled “The Suburbs/Month of May” that’s, according to a “postcard” addressed to The Internet, going to hit stores in the next couple of weeks.
The tracks are about as night-and-day as it gets, “The Suburbs” being a bright, jazzy tune filled with upbeat pianos and strumming. “Month of May” is more about shredding the hell out of the electric guitar. Granted, these “previews” make the ones on iTunes feel epic in length, but they give at least a fraction of an idea of the kinds of sounds the Montreal rockers are pursuing these days.
