Minnesota-born David Dondero long ago staked his name in the Narrative American songwriting territory—and further wedges it into that particular ground on this song. We’ve all heard the phrase “Wherever you go, there you are” (I think I had it unironically taped to my doorway as a teenager), but never in the foot-stomping, picking party-worthy form that it appears in here.
The song is the first to surface off Dondero’s forthcoming #Zero With a Bullet, which Team Love will release August 3. Listen and download right here.
Dondero, in just a couple of days, will take his backing band and banjo on a seriously long North American tour. Dude’s schedule is close to rivaling a certain other musical act that tends to favor epic tour schedules.
