Flying Lotus‘ 2008 opus, Los Angeles, was an obvious nod to the City of Angels, but for his new forthcoming full-length, the SoCal beat-scaper has left the home turf and traveled a little further.
How far we’re not sure, but the album’s title, Cosmogramma, should be an indication of how far he’s aiming these days. Knowing FlyLo, he’ll live up to expectations, and there’s also a promising string of guests lined up, including relative Ravi Coltrane, Thundercat, Rebekah Raff, Erykah Badu, Thom Yorke, and The Long Lost’s Laura Darlington.
Warp will release the album later this spring, but you can hear three non-album tracks, free for download at the label’s site, right now. The space-centric album artwork is below.
Cosmogramma is out May 4.
