Conor Oberst, Fleet Foxes, Jenny Lewis, and a boat-load of other artists are involved in a charity auction for Crafts for a Cause, and yes, the organization’s M.O. is as simple as its name sounds. Led by Little Joy’s Binki Shapiro, Crafts for a Cause has enlisted artists to design and decorate various merch items, all of which will be auctioned off to provide relief for Haiti victims.
Oberst has decorated his Fender Strat, while Lewis, No Doubt, and The Strokes designed tote bags. Devendra Banhart donated his own artwork, and there are tons more currently involved with the project. M. Ward, The Black Keys, the Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold are all on board for the project.
Proceeds from the auction will go towards Crash director Paul Haggis’ charity organization, Artists for Peace and Justice, which is currently mobilizing relief effort in Haiti.
